Tip #9: The Laugh Hack
Say goodbye to cheesy fake smiles.
Okay, so I know not EVERY photo can be candid. Sometimes the opportunity does call for a "smile for the camera!" moment. Well, is it just me or do you and your partner also turn into Chandler Bing and with the most unnatural smile when somebody tells you to look at the camera and “say cheese’” or “smile”?
I’ve photographed hundreds of camera shy individuals over the years and this trick I’m about to share ALWAYS works to get a natural happy look. Tell them to start laughing out loud. Yes, I’m serious. They will start laughing very awkwardly and then they will actually start laughing because it's so ridiculous and THAT'S when you get your money shot! See what I’m talking about in this video:
