Tip #43: Quick Videos in Photo Mode

Be ready to document all the chaos action!

Kids, toddlers, infants and yes, even newborns can learn and do things so quickly. Sometimes it literally feels like if you blink, you'll miss what they're doing. Whether it's that first smile, first steps or their first time on a bike, no matter what the moment is, we're here to equip you with the tips to capture these precious moments QUICKLY.
If you have your camera opened and it's on photo mode, but you actually want to capture video and worry if you take time to slide over to the "video" setting, you'll miss the moment....just hold down the shutter button in the camera. It will automatically start recording video instead! Slide right to lock it into video recording so you don't have to hold it down, or simply lift your finger to stop the video.

Personally, I'm a fan of capturing the "firsts" (if I have my phone near me) with video instead of a photo. Getting the movement and sounds will help you re-live the memory down the road vs a static photo.

Record a video while in Photo mode

Press and hold shutter in photo mode to record a video.

For Quick Videos

Hold down on the shutter video. The video will stop recording when you release.

For Longer Videos

If you want to film something longer than a few seconds, slide the shutter icon toward the left to lock it. It will continue recording until you click stop.
